Cliches au cinema – 2. Les praticiens (The practitioners)
Le “PSYCHIATRE”… Le cinéma depuis sa création en a fait une de ses cibles favorites. Pendant du malade mental innocent ou psychopathe, le “Psy”, thérapeute ou magicien, manipulateur ou bienveillant a fait et continue à faire les beaux jours des scénarii… pour le pire et le meilleur.
“The PSYCHIATRIST”…Since the birth of the 7th Art those scientists have facinated audiences and have become ones of its fav target, for the better or the worst. Therapists or magicians, manipulators or kind people, their science continues to feed screenplays and imagination.

Cliches au cinema – 1. La maladie mentale / (mental illness)
La représentation au cinéma de la psychopatholgie pourrait prendre des heures de débats discutant de la qualité, de la véracité scientifique d’une pathologie attribuée à tel ou tel personnage apparaissant sur l’écran. Néanmoins, au fil des ages cinématographiques, le spectre de “maladie mentale” s’est fait plus précis, n’hésitant pas à “étiquetter” et à “conformer” tel personnage avec tel type de maladie mentale. Le goût du public y a contribué. Pour le pire et le meilleur… comme on dit…Les exemples sont nombreux. Voyons d’abord (en vrac) les plus célèbres !
It could take hours of debate to talk about how cinema has represented psychopathology.., mental illness. whether if it did it right, scientifically and honestly, it belongs to the history of cinema… Nevertheless the audience’s taste and support for this kind of “genre” films contributed to the success of those “insanity” stories and leading insane heroes. For the better or the worst.

Fritz Lang lui donne jour en 1931. Le début d’une longue liste de films traitant d’assassins en série… monstres effrayants, reflets d’une société qui se croyait et se voulait sans menace. Après Peter Lorre, héro de “M” (“M le Maudit”) de Fritz Lang, se succèderont, Hanibal Lecter, Freddy Krueger, Joseph Bouvier (ok, celui-ci est moins connu… mais rappelez-vous du tueur en série du “Juge et l’Assassin de Tavernier(1979), et autres “serial killers”dont le cinéma nous abreuve à longueur d’année.

Désolée, il y a un petit “bug” incompréhensible avec le chiffre “huit” qui se transforme en smiley dans les dates des films, 1978 pour Cimino, 1998 pour Vinterberg.
